Luigi Lavazza opened the first Lavazza store in via San Tommaso, Turin in 1895.
The history of Lavazza is that of a business which, for over 120 years, has pursued a company vision based on passion for work, for the product and the land in which it operates.
These values have been ingrained in Lavazza’s DNA since its foundation in 1895, and upheld by four generations of entrepreneurs.
We joined a contest, designing new layouts for the four major Lavazza vending machines.
Lavazza has strong, detailed brand guidelines which naturally needed to be followed precisely. To maintain the brand’s image and ensure clarity for the vending machine designs, a few key-features needed to be included.
Among these were the Aroma Mark (which is a mark separate from the wordmark, used for many design applications) and icons showing which type of coffee was used in the vending machines.
After reviewing the brand styleguides, consisting of over 50 pages, we went to work on four different concepts.
